Farm is located three miles southeast of  Bowie TX on FM 3043.  Look for George, the seven foot wooden bear as you approach. 

Hours: Open Friday after Thanksgiving, 12 noon to 5 PM daily until sold out..  Come out and enjoy our county atmosphere.  We accept  cash and checks.

Directions from Ft. Worth/ Alvord/Decatur: On US287, take Wagonseller exit north for one mile to FM3043. Turn left at the "T". Farm is 1/2 mile on the right.

 Directions from Wichita Falls: South on U.S. 287 to Wagonseller exit,  north for one mile to F.M. 3043.  Turn left  at the "T": Farm is 1/2 mile on the right.

Choose-and-cut or we'll cut it for you. Located in Van Alstyne, Texas - 30 minutes north-east of Plano.

Directions: From Dallas- take highway 75 north to exit 51, Van Alstyne, Texas. A Mobil station with food courts will be directly in front of you at the stop sign. Turn right (east) onto farm road (F.M.) 121 and proceed to the next stop light, which is six tenths of a mile. At the light turn right (south) and go two blocks on Hwy. 5 to the next stop light. The Post office will be on your left. Turn left (east) onto farm road (F.M.) 121 and proceed 8.5 miles to Wintergreen Tree Farm. The farm will be on your left.

We accept VISA, Mastercard, and American Express cards. We will open for business Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. Our hours for business are Fri. Sat., Sun and Monday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We are closed Tues, Wed and Thur. We will close Dec. 23 at 5:00 p.m. or until sold out. We are currently selling Virginia pine, Leyland cypress, loblolly pine and Carolina Sapphire, 5 to 14 feet tall. We will also have a variety of fresh select pre-cut trees including Noble, Douglas and Concolor Firs.  Call for sizes and pricing.

Farm Specialties: Our gift shop specializes in handcrafted ornaments, gifts, wreaths, jams and jellies.Activities includes tractor drawn hayrides to and from the field. Walking trails through the woods are also available. Native oak trees tower to 100 feet and make excellent photo backdrops. Picnic areas are available. Pets are allowed, but please keep them on a leash as the woods are dense and we don't want anyone to lose their pets. Hot apple cider and hot chocolate are complimentary. Tree shaking and bailing are also available at no additional cost.  Plenty of parking space is available.

FEATURING OCTOBER:
Celebrate our American heritage with a visit to Star M Plantation in October. We invite school groups, scout groups and family groups of twenty or more people to schedule a Friday or Saturday in October to participle in Fall activities at the Plantation. FEATURING DECEMBER:
Opening day is the day after Thanksgiving at 10:00 until dark. The plantation then will be open every Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 until dark and every Friday from 3:00 until 6:30. We usually sell out of trees for the year after the third weekend. On weekends, enjoy a fragrant cup of cider and a wheeled train ride. Ponder the "Reason for the Season" at the Chapel on the Hill. Shop in the Christmas Gift Shop for gifts and snacks. Visit Mrs. Claus greenhouse to buy garland and wreaths. In the fields, select and harvest a Virginia Pine or Leyland Cypress. In the barn, choose a freshly harvested fir in water in stands. Buy the tree and the stand or just the tree. We sell the very best stands. Call early to purchase a gift certificate for a friend or relative to redeem at the plantation and to find out about special events at the plantation.

TREE PRICES: Virginia Pines and Leyland Cypresses: $25 up. Firs in the barn: $45 up. Containerized three to four foot trees: $15 up. Prices include tax and a net wrapping for easy transportation. Choose-and-cut Featuring Virginia Pines and Afghan Pines; The Farm is located 4 1/2 miles north of Bonham across from the entrance to the Lake Bonham Recreation area.

Directions: From the Dallas and surrounding areas, go North on US 75 (Central Expressway) to exit 45 and turn Right. Take Hwy 121 (North) into Bonham. Hiway 121 turns LEFT at the first traffic light - going North. Stay on 121 until you get to the first major hiway overpass which will be Hiway 82 and turn Right, staying on the service road. At the first intersection turn Left (North) on 78 to FM 273 and turn Right. There is a stop sign and flashing lights at this intersection. This road used to be 898 but has been renumbered as 273. Stay on 273 until you get to Recreation Road 3 (R3) and Turn Right. The Farm will be on the Right about 1 1/2 Miles.

Our farm will be open the Friday after Thanksgiving and then Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays thru and including Saturday Dec 22.
Hours are 10:00 am till dark.
Most of our trees are in the 6 to 10 foot range. We have trees over 12 feet tall.

We have Hay rides, Camp fire, Hot Chocolate and you can picnic on the grounds.

Choose and cut Christmas trees, grown here in Texas!  Virginia and Afghan pines,      4 - 15 feet.  All trees are $39.00.  Cut your own or we'll help!

 
Hours:  Saturdays and Sundays between Thanksgiving and Christmas, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm.

 

 

DIRECTIONS

From GainesvilleTravel WEST on Hwy 82 through Muenster and Saint Jo.  About 7 miles west of Saint Jo, turn LEFT on Dixie School Rd.  At the fork, take the LEFT fork onto Starkey Rd.  Travel 2 more miles, passing Starkey Cemetery, to Hawkwood Ranch on the Left.

 

From Wichita Falls:  Travel EAST on Hwy 82  through Henrietta and Nocona.  About 7 miles east of Nocona, turn RIGHT on Dixie School Rd.  At the fork, take the LEFT fork onto Starkey Rd.  Travel 2 more miles, passing Starkey Cemetery, to Hawkwood Ranch on the Left.

 

Open Thanksgiving weekend Saturday 10 am to 5 pm and Sunday 1pm to 5 pm.  Open all other Saturdays until Christmas 10 am to 5 pm.
